In conjunction with Innovation for Health, the fourth Dutch edition of Global Investor Forum will be organised, creating a powerful platform for investors and entrepreneurs to meet each other and to discuss investment opportunities. During the GIF, investors can get acquinted with start-ups and scale-ups in Health & Life Science with growth potential.
During Innovation for Health, Life Sciences & Health 010 organizes a special LSH010 street. Participating companies are:
Delta Diagnostics, a spin-off from TNO, develops biosensor systems for life-science research and diagnostics. Their sensor technology is based on optical chips and enables rapid, quantitative and multiplexed biomolecule detection in small samples at low cost. We make label-free biosensing accessible to all.
Holland US Bridge
The Holland US Bridge is a unique program providing Dutch life sciences companies with equal chances compared to their US peers. Hogeschool Rotterdam, Instituut voor Gezondheidszorg
The Institute for Healthcare (Instituut voor Gezondheidszorg) and Knowledge Center Care Innovation (Kenniscentrum Zorginnovatie) of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences provide education and participation in practice-oriented research in the field of healthcare. Part of this is the application on E-health and IT applications. Knowledge Center Care Innovation consists of various research groups including the research group Care Innovation with Technology. IVG and KCZI work closely with healthcare partners and universities from the region, but also beyond. For example, together with Erasmus MC they work in the Create4Care lab.
Skin cancer is the most diagnosed cancer worldwide. Current treatment options induce significant side effects and patient discomfort. IMcoMET is developing a novel treatment method that will lead to removal of skin lesions with only minor side effects. It relies on their proprietary technology that allows control of the composition of the tissue microenvironment. The technology is used to replace the immuno-suppressive tumor microenvironment with the adjacent healthy microenvironment. This induces reactivation of the immune system and subsequent destruction of the tumor without any significant side effects.
Institute for Medical Technology Assessment
The institute for medical technology assessment (iMTA) has over 30 years of experience as a worldwide leader in health economic research. iMTA offers expertise in economic evaluation, cost analysis, and outcomes research and is dedicated to the use of cost-effectiveness information in healthcare decision making. They can help you to unlock and communicate the value of your innovation.
Medical Delta brings together three renowned universities, two university medical centers, four colleges, governments, companies, healthcare institutions and other parties in the province Zuid-Holland. Medical Delta started a major scientific program in 2019. In the coming years over 250 scientists will work together in twelve different consortia on technological solutions for sustainable care. Companies, healthcare institutions, the province and major cities in the Delta are also closely involved, including through Living Labs where innovations with end users are tested in (healthcare) practice. The objective for the next five years is that these research programs grow in size and achieve excellence and technological solutions for sustainable care. In doing so, Medical Delta gives an enormous boost to the life sciences & health sector in the Zuid-Holland region and in the Netherlands as a whole.
Genetic technology can be an important guideline in healthcare. DNA largely determines how the body responds to nutrition, sports and medication. Omnigen makes this side of genetic technology available to companies and consumers. The company does this in the form of DNA research. The test consists of a cheek mucus sample, that people can take and send from home. The result of the DNA test can be viewed online and provides insight into the nutritional and sports profile, among other things.
